Top Mattress Stores in the United States

According to industry trade information, these are the top mattress stores in the United States as of September 1, 2011. Each store listed in our Top Mattress Stores list carries the mattress brands that we cover here at, that is to say these Top Stores carry the Top Mattresses. In the majority of cases (okay, all but one instance to be completely fair – and that instance is Ikea), all of the Top Mattress Stores as defined by market share, which was measured by trade magazine Furniture Today, all retailers carry at least one of the popular brands highlighted on our Mattress Reviews list.

As this section expands, you will find a more comprehensive list of retailers who can meet your needs. For the time being, the Top Mattress Stores on our list below have representation in 43 States.

The preliminary list of Top Mattress Stores is as follows:

Ashley Furniture Stores
Mattress Firm Stores
Nebraska Furniture Mart
RC Willey Furniture
Raymour & Flanagan – It is worth noting that Raymour & Flanigan continues to shine as one of the most respected and highly recognized mattress stores in the country. If you read the full review and rating by clicking here, you will understand why.
Rooms To Go
Sleep Train Mattress Centers
Sleepy’s Stores
Star Furniture
Value City Furniture

To see how these furniture stores rate based on our proprietary evaluation methods, click on their names above and you will be redirected to their review pages. For those who are interested in our methodology, these stores were evaluated based on their mattress focus, their Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating and the quality of brands of mattresses they carry (e.g. the higher the quality of mattress according to our qScores, the higher their rating in that section). The highest available score is 5 Stars.

In addition, a list of their locations by State and City has been included at the end of each post.

As of the date of publication, only “bricks and mortar” stores were able to make our list; an “all-inclusive” approach will follow, so if you have any suggestions about local stores that did not make the Top list, including internet-only retailers, please send us your suggestions at qstkmedia(at)gmail(dot)com.

Note: We realize that the above rate exceptionally well. Once we reach a dozen or so Mattress Store ratings, we will be changing our evaluation method to reflect more of a bell curve… but keep in mind, these top stores are indeed “Best In Class” and we recommend them to all shoppers.
